Welcome to The Spectrum!

Next Up: Kreativquartier Open June 19th–21st, 2026

Festival Program

SATURDAY 20.06.2026

14:00 - 17:00 Dirty Needle Work with Stephanie Müller and Klaus Erika Dietl

As part of the Kreativlabor Open, Stephanie Müller and Klaus Erika Dietl invite you to an open creative station. The focus is on the marginal notes of the everyday: small scraps, worn-out materials, garments that didn’t quite make it to the clothing swap rack, and the cracks in the rhythm of things. Instead of smoothing out mistakes or tidying up traces, they become the starting point for new narratives here. The hole, the break, the disruption—everything that is usually overlooked or hidden—turns into material for collaborative work combining textiles, drawing, and improvised gesture. Using needle and thread, scissors and pens, fragile objects, little “scratches” to cuddle with, and wearable jewelry with a twist are created—things to embrace that do not hide their vulnerability, but make it visible. Visitors are warmly invited to develop new forms out of the unfinished, the broken, and the left-behind together with the artists.

12:00 – 00:00 Three Oscillating Lights - a kinetic light performance.

An electronic light play, accompanied by sounds from time to time.

12:00 – 00:00 Dritte*Orte Archive on “Inventour”

The Dritte*Orte Archive tells the story of places through their people, their atmosphere, and their objects. It collects unique, informal spaces and visions for this city’s vacancies—together with you. Over the first few months, the map has grown: dozens of places have disappeared, others have emerged. On Saturday, you can discover some of them in passing.

12:00 – 00:00 The Spectrum Trinket Trade

During the Trinket Trade, people swap small, curious, found, or handmade objects with each other. This can include stickers, small figurines, beaded bracelets, unique stones, buttons, or any other cute knick-knacks. It is explicitly not about material value, but about the joy of sharing, discovering little treasures, and an easy, playful way to spark conversations with others. One corner will be dedicated to a puzzle swap.

12:00 – 22:00 Best Practice Awareness Booth

What actually makes a really good awareness booth? Drop by our “How-to Awareness Booth”! We won’t just show you the setup and its most crucial components—you can also gear up right away: grab earplugs, dextrose, or period products, browse through (and purchase) our Awareness Handbook, and test your way through various fidget toys.

By and with SAFE THE DANCE (@safethedance) – your go-to hub for awareness, inclusion, and diversity.

12:00 – 22:00 Fidget Toy Library

Whether it’s for stress relief, improving focus during long talks, or simply for sensory regulation (stimming)—fidget toys are fantastic little helpers. However, since not every tool works for every person, we have set up a Fidget Toy Library. Come by, try out our collection of tactile toys, and find the right fidgets for you!

12:00 – 20:00 Let them eat cake! A participatory discourse

The artists of Haus 2 invite you to join in and join the conversation! Are art & culture dream jobs? Who is actually considered an artist? What do people in the cultural sector live on? How is wealth distributed in our society, and what would fair cultural funding for everyone look like? What does free space mean to you? What defines the Kreativquartier for you—and which places are absolutely indispensable to you? We invite you to not only discuss these questions, but to process them with us artistically. Whether it’s painting, printing, pottery, photography, or simply speaking your mind—you decide how you want to express yourself.

12:00 – 22:00 Clothing and Plant Swap

Wardrobe full, windowsill bursting? Come to our big clothing and plant swap. How it works: Bring well-preserved, washed clothes and/or cuttings, seeds & houseplants. Gender-affirming clothing and accessories are also highly welcome. Swap them for new favorite pieces and green additions. If you don’t have anything to swap, you are still more than welcome to take something with you. Whatever is left over at the end will be donated.

13:00 – 16:00 Time Bridge Photography - Transforming Images into Stories

Franz Schmid will be on-site to exchange ideas about his memory work with historical photographs and the narratives that emerge from them. The transformation of the Kreativquartier will be the new focus of his work, and he looks forward to interested visitors and their stories.

14:00 – 18:00 Passagère

“Passagère” transforms the stairwell of Haus 2 into a poetic intermediate space, where art appears and disappears like a fleeting companion. In passing, it opens up new visual axes, memories, and encounters, while the artists themselves become visible in the space through their works as traces, voices, and counterparts.

14:00 – 18:00 Craft Sunday: Pronoun Buttons

For the Kreativquartier Open, we are bringing out the button machine! Make your own pronoun button and set a small sign for more inclusion of trans* people.

After the work is done, we will serve you together with Auergarden and M³Kitchen: On Saturday (all day): Delicious vegan salad bowls with vegetables fresh from the Munich fields. On Sunday (from 15:00): Vegan cakes and cookies in a relaxed atmosphere. Food based on solidarity: All food is distributed on a donation basis.
